Behind the Wheel

I am not quite sure how I feel about this milestone in our life. I just scheduled Tanner & Taylor an appointment with the DMV to get their drivers permit. In one month they will be behind the wheel. Legally. It makes me sad that they are growing up so fast. It makes me feel old. Certainly I can't have children old enough to drive. It makes me smile to know that they will have a new independence. It's an exciting time for them. It's a scary time for us!

We're in the same boat. My oldest has his permit. Now we just need to get him his driving hours. I'm kinda afraid to be in the car with him driving. I haven't driven with him yet.

You should be thrilled! Once they drive, you are free. You can send them to the grocery store, you can ask them to take younger siblings to events, you can have them fill up the tank. They will wash the car for you so they can drive. You are entering into some new-found freedom, friend!
